many military people are not sympathetic to the commie science monitor.
Or in which of their studios it was filmed.....
The best thing would be to find and free her. That would rely on informants of some kind, I should think. Somone who knows what group the kidnappers belong to.
I seem to recall that when the Italian woman journalist (speaking of commies) was kidnapped, the terrorists made the same demand -- release of women prisoners -- and US officials said we didn't hold any. I wonder if that was true and if it is still true.
At what point does a news organization become criminally complicit in kidnapping and terrorism?
Blue Turtle posted the following on another thread:
The Jordan Times ran an editorial on Sunday headlined "Our Jill." Some excerpts:
"Jill Carroll worked at The Jordan Times for one year - long enough for anyone who would come across her to be convinced beyond any doubt of her genuine interest in the Middle East, her sincere admiration for Arab culture and utmost respect for the Arab people."
"A few months after the US invasion, she left Jordan for Iraq, prompted by the desire to show to as vast an audience as possible the human tragedies caused by the war and the hardships of the Iraqi people."
"The kidnappers who abducted her could not have chosen a more wrong target."
"Jill has always wanted to know and experience as much as possible about Arab identity, and she is keen on absorbing it, learning, understanding and respecting it."
"An open-minded, sharp, intelligent, dedicated and highly appreciated professional, Jill makes one of the best ambassadors Arabs could ever hope for."
Trying to give a damn...
Nope just can't do it. Go looking for trouble, especially in a warzone and you might just find it.
Especially when the only people who just might happen to rescue you feel nothing but contempt for you and your socialist rag.
I predict the military guys in Iraq will not look too hard for her.
It's always the sympathetic ones that get picked up these days. Recently, it's been journalists from countries who would pay the ransom. Not us, though.
You think it's naivete, I think it's a setup.
If only Jack Bauer wasn't involved in another hostage situation, ('saw him in action just last night.) he could probably shoot a few kneecaps, stick some electrical wires to some chests, and this problem would be resolved quickly.
...but then again, it may just be the CTU bureaucracy has him on a tight leash at the moment.
Exactly. Hey, Jazzy, tell us where you got the tape or we bomb you in five minutes. Five minutes. Start talking.
Gotta feeling she's a closet jihadist...They wil probably release her.
Back in the good old days, Caesar would have given them 24 hours to return her, and then levelled 3 cities if they didn't. Put a few heads on poles- that's what we need to do.
wonder what will happen
Title should read "American Christian female will be beheaded in 72 hours".
I hate to say it, but the track record for the terrorists releasing anybody is not good. Certainly not Americans.
Maybe congress should have an investigation. Seems like more reporters are killed than coal miners annually. Very hazardous job!!!
If we rescue her, she will probably go on TV and say how great she was treated and that her captors only wanted to "get their message out."
If she is raped and beheaded, the MSM will blame the Bush Administration for not finding and saving her.
Heads we lose, tails they win.
