And the rats bring down yet another good man.

Agenda when focused can be most formidable.

Since the 'Rats have no other agenda it's tough to fight it and win.

Maybe he cares about the party more than personal power.

OR maybe he's guilty. If he's innocent of all this BS, his stepping down just gives more power to the deranged rats. It proves to them you don't have to be guilty of anything. They can now with impunity say, "Now...who's our next target to take down"?

Somewhere down the line the Repubs have to say, 'enough is enough'.

Im a little confused. Didnt he already step down as Majority Leader? How can he "step down as majority leader" if he already did.

I'm by no means convinced what he did was illegal, although I think much of it should be. The question for me is one of timing. Create laws that make what Abrimoff did illegal. Then go after people like him.

I disagree. All I want is full disclosure and let the public decide at the ballot box. The lobbyists will always find a way to do bribery.

If nothing else there will always be insider deals like Duke Cunningham, Geraldine Ferraros husband (did same thing as Cunningham), and Hillary (cattle futures) pulled off.

Why Hillary and Ferrarro's husband are not joining Duke in jail is beyond me.

On another subject, this is also how people avoid estate taxes. They rig an insider deal so that the heirs make a bunch of money and the parents lose.

I agree with you----I have been a Pence fan for a long time...but, I am really angry that the GOP in House (and probably the Senate)...

have decided that they are gonna become the "appeasement party"....

PHOOEY ON THE WHOLE LOT OF THEM!!!

Don't forget the media will take a mole hill and make a mountain out of the mere inuendo (sp?) of Republican wrong doing.

...suppose they did and controlled the House and started impeachment, they still cannot get 67 senators to remove him from office.

If I were you, I would not be putting any wagers on that.

Create laws that make what Abrimoff did illegal. Then go after people like him.

That's what we need - more laws. Easier than electing principled people who are serious about slashing government then going home.

Every day it gets harder and harder to tell the two parties apart on many issues.

You must be blind. Republicans are the party of cut taxes and spend anyway. The democrats are the party of increase taxes and spend even more.

I'll take the R's because if you cut taxes enough, the spending will eventually stop.

Don't you think that IF they had anything to tie Delay directly to wrongdoing RE: Abramoff, that news would have been out last week...when Abramoff spilled his guts???

I have heard several "experts" say that in cases like Abramaoffs, they are SURE to get any and all important people that might be involved, testified to right then...because then, at a later date, Abramoff wouldn't be able to come back and deny that he fingered so-and-so.

I assume he's innocent until proven guilty. Delay to way too respected by his peers to just assume this is guilt. I agree with Krauthammer, Delay is doing this for the 2006 election and keeping the Republican majority. Abramoff is going to be a long haul even if he's innocent.

And the rats bring down yet another good man.

I supported DeLay for the Ronnie Earle thing, but when I heard that DeLay had been on the Abramoff golf junket I changed my mind.

"All what you do is bash the Republicans and President Bush. Please do not tell me that you voted for Bush twice, and you worked you a** off in 2004 to elect President Bush. No one who bash the President and the Republicans as you do, is going to sacrifice one second to work for their elections."

Actually I did,. Best not to Assume.

I was the 2nd volunteer at the Phoenix campaign office and helped to run a number of campaign events.

I put in many nights and weekends organizing events and on the phone banks.

"If the voters want big government, then why should a president politician veto big government?"

GOP voters?? You're dreaming...

But ummm...Maybe you're right.

Why would this Republican President who is FOR Big Gub'mint veto ANY budget? (as Ronald Reagan spins in his grave)

What is wrong with all of you? The Republicans were going to dump him to try to save themselves. That's why he is resigning. He was FORCED OUT by the cowardly crew he serves with!

but when I heard that DeLay had been on the Abramoff golf junket I changed my mind.

You hate golf that much ? I don't know if golf junketts are illegal. I do know that jailing someone for a golf junkett is absurd.

No. 1, yes I like Mike Pence, he's from Indy!! He also is not afraid of speaking his mind. I guess D.C. has not gotten to him yet. I am sick of all this crap. I'm sick of the Rep's having no backbone. DeLay should tell them all to go screw themselves and fight tooth and nail. But just about all of them are dirty, which is sad to say. Money does strange things to people. I am sure that the Dem's are loving this, makes me soooooooooooo mad.
