I've just went to Middle East Newsline's website. There was a news claiming death imminent, but not dead yet.
I have said last year that Israel was entering into the most dangerous period of its entire existence as a nation. That is intensifying this year with the loss of Sharon. Sharon was personally a very likeable person. I am sad to see him in this condition. But I think we need to look at the Bible and the Book of Joel. The prophet Joel makes it very clear that God has enmity against those who, quote, divide my land. God considers this land to be his. You read the Bible, he says, This is my land. And for any prime minister of Israel who decides he going carve it up and give it away, God says, No. This is mine. And the same thing I had a wonderful meeting with Yitzhak Rabin in 1974. He was tragically assassinated, and it was terrible thing that happened, but nevertheless, he was dead. And now Ariel Sharon, who was again a very likeable person, a delightful person to be with. I prayed with him personally. But here he is at the point of death. He was dividing Gods land, and I would say woe unto any prime minister of Israel who takes a similar course to appease the EU, the United Nations or United States of America. God said, This land belongs to me, you better leave it alone.
Illness and death are not something I would wish for Sharon or for almost anyone (Osama bin Ladin is one exception). Yet, I do not share the feelings of most of the people on this thread. Innocent Jews are still suffering from Sharon's ethnic cleansing of Gaza and I can't forget that. I wish I could share your feelings. Instead, I am relieved that Sharon will not be able to throw more Jews out of their homes or divide Jerusalem. I wish those feelings made me feel good, but they don't.
I think I got the message. Posting it one time would have been ok, too. :-)
Oh, and I disagree that Sharon´s move to the center was wrong - it was exactly right. Israel should give up WB too, build a high fence and whenever there are attacks again from these Palestinian territories respond with the IDF.
Now Drudge is reporting Fate Unknown...argh
That's four copies of your post. When you click Post, watch the bottom of your screen. If it shows that the post is happening, don't click again. Your valuable post will appear in the thread, even if there is a delay on your end.
Thanks. I'll wait for other reports to ping.
Sharon was heading toward an election where he would have gotten over 70% of the vote. I had a long talk with an Israeli-born friend of mine last night, and it seems the Israeli people were willing to go Sharon's way and that must be respected, if not fully understood by us. I hope the press underscores Sharon the solidier/general, because as such he saved Israel from the brink of destruction. He'll go down in Jewish history as one of the greats.
Four? I count 13! ;-)
Wanting to allude? You never have to wait to make an allusion to the Walking Dude - after all - it's all an illusion.
Do you really want to know or is your question rhetorical?
I gave up after 4. Sounds like the guy's server is slow. FR seems to be responding normally right now.
Your posting finger has the hiccups.
OKAAAAAAAAAAAAY! We get it already!
But not for them. Samson doesn't need Ari as the PM to do his thing.
Depends on which Jewish history you read. To the faithful and to the real Zionist, Sharon decisions as PM to ethnically cleanse Gaza may negate a lifetime of service.
Oh, yeah - back when SNL was actually funny.
