Hot Shots. Much more accurate portrayal of Naval Aviators, better plot, and a better looking girl. Possibly even more liberal actor.

I ran into Kelly McGillis, she was nothing to look at. I guess tons of makeup will cover anything. Or you just don't like that look. She's certainly not classically pretty. But she's still a babe, or was when Top Gun was made.
But I understand your disappointment. I felt much the same when I saw the gal who played Ellie May on the Beverly Hillbillies. And that was while the show was still on, or maybe shortly after it went off the air.
