Look, I take no pleasure whatsoever in Prime Minister Sharon's condition, and in fact I'm praying for his recovery. But I don't understand why everyone is dumping on Pat Robertson for recognizing that the Land of Israel isn't just any land and the Jewish Nation isn't just another nation. They are the clergy of the human race and the Land of Israel is the "sacristy" of the world. No Jewish state in the Holy Land is a "regular" country like any other. The reason the Jewish People survived two thousand years of exile and were miraculously brought back from extinction (G-d forbid) and returned to their ancient Land was to bring about the Kingdom of G-d on earth. Desecration of Jerusalem, G-d's Holy City, brings about swift and severe punishment.

I'm sorry, but I find it astounding that so many conservatives expect the State of Israel to be a western-style secular democracy whose policies have no more metaphysical ramifications than any other country.

The reason for PM Sharon's being stricken are known to G-d alone, but Rev. Robertson is being more of a true religious Zionist than his detractors.

Now if only we could make a Noachide out of him!
