I have 4 strikes on me.

Seven strikes, if you're also a heterosexual with a burger in one hand...and a cigarette in the other.

Yeah, sure, uh-huh, legal, fair, rights, laws, blah blah,,,,,but can you smoke there??

I hope this guy wins, and wins big. The sky isn't going to fall because of this lawsuit as it's one of many, but this one is of the unPC version and could open a few eyes.

Frankly. most of the women who go to chick only gyms are not really ones you want to see anyway.

Not true. My wife goes to a gym that's geared towards women (although open to both sexes) because she got tired of the "meat market" atmosphere of other gyms.

I take the club's side in this one. While it would certainly put a stick in the eyes of the feminists, the fact remains that businesses should have the right to serve whoever they choose to.

This may be the only way to attain the right of a business to serve whoever they choose. The liberals and the feminiazis aren't troubled by "fair", that calim is just a weapon not a belief. A little negative feedback will teach them to be fair.

You can't patent tactics then. Awww. I've no sympathy for whining and intrusion but the poetry is too sweet.

At issue is whether an owner has the right to control the customer policies of his or her private business. If so, then the state cannot properly dictate whom that owner must serve or allow onto the premises.

I think the government settled this little hash when the "Whites-only" signs all disappeared from certain resturants and country clubs.

Here is information on California Law, the Unruh Act, that they are suing under: http://www.dfeh.ca.gov/Statutes/unruh.asp It was used by the feminist to force men's health clubs to admit women among other things. It's actually a pretty good law. When it was passed there was a lot of discrimination on the base of race and other conditions that it was intended to address. It's done a very good job for the people in the state. The feminists came latter and used it for their own purposes

While I agree with the idea of having women only health clubs for a number of reasons I also have to say what's good for the goose is good for the gander

As reporters to do their job just like male reporters. By the same token male reporters must be let in to women's locker rooms if let female reporters in. If they don't get in at the same time as the other sex's reporters then they can't compete for the story on an equal basis. If you don't want the opposite sex in the locker room then you have to keep all reporters out.

I'm not sure if a female reporter in a male locker room can sue for sexual harassment if the athletes are running around nude. Since the players need to shower and change and the reporters want to get to them right after the game to get the impressions of the players right after the game. They'd probably be able to sue if sexual humor was used (hostile work place).

Is there such a thing as a private club? The comment was "if it operates as a business" in a previous case. OK. What if it operates as a non-profit? What if it operates as neither, as a voluntary association?

All these same issues will come up in Washington State with the smoking ban. Business can't have smoking. Supposedly, to some extent neither can private clubs if they have employees and the employees need to go in the area. This seems still to allow a smoking lounge in a large University club type setting.
