I tend to believe Suvorov, who said that the Soviets found that terrorists operated more effectively when they were independent and not under Soviet control.

Great coment....exactly!

"Russia's political manuever and veto may be more power to Islamist terror...than their current play in support of Iran..or older shelf weapons sales."

Russia ...being part of the Mid east Quartet, margins they can manuver openly....or via veto in U.N. to see terror orgs in Lebanon/Syria reduced just a little.
or where sweeping UNSRC ...like UNSCR 1559 is made hollow.
Hamas and Hizbullah are elevated to Political interlocular status.....Israel has to chew on it.
Little complaint from U.S. State Dept : )

When America was going full throtle up to put Americans on the Moon,
Russia was trying to incite chaos everywhere they could.
So ya....whats more upsetting to the Russian psyche,.....U.S. in Iraq and buddies with the Sunni,
or American Astronauts on the moon surface again?

maybe both realities puts them over the edge : )
