Boy if you don't read from the book of relativism.
There is no Christian God or Hindu God. There is but one God and he has no religion. Religion is for us mortals, just a means to get closer to God.
Exd 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me
"I'm skeptical at what is and isn't considered on the list but I haven't the time to find any alternative stats today, busy day at work."
I can think of one. For instance China isn't even on the list which is pretty absurd but the fact remains, US leads the stats, pick up whichever source you want.
How many times must this be said? And in how many ways until Christians understand this is truth?
and he has no religion...
Again, a very simple but profound truth. In God we Go.
Thanks for the ping.
Namaste.
"As the different streams having their sources in different places all mingle their water in the sea, sources in different tendencies, various though they appear, crooked or straight, all lead to Thee."
--- Swami Vivekananda
Check post #126.
"Whosoever comes to Me, through whatsoever form, I reach him; all men are struggling through paths which in the end lead to me."
-- Bhagwat Gita
No Christian with faith (yes faith) in the Lord and the doctrine of the church he sent his son to give the world can look at a relative 'my god, his god, etc'. There is one God, and other 'gods' are demons and idols pagans worship. One without faith looking to maintain ties politically can confess other Gods, and it's sinful.
You cannot come to the son through worship a pagan diety.
But I thought a man is judged by his deeds...
What are you prattling about?
There is no way that a practicing Russian Orthodox Bishop could see Hinduism as anything other than a Pagan faith.
Just curious. Can no Hindu ever be allowed into heaven?
If he is baptised and beleives.
Otherwise?
There are means but, none of them involve practicing counter to the doctrine of the church.
Saying that a dalit woman is inferior and raping her for instance would pretty well preclude salvation.
Hmm, okay. Cool.
Further we pray even those who are utterly heterodox can be saved through some means, there is no limits on God's mercy.
That is a far cry however from confessing other dieties as 'valid' or 'alternative'. A secular government leader can do this, an archbishop should not.
So you mean a true Hindu will never be allowed into Heaven no matter what.
What does being a true hindu involve?
