"think I'll swing by before logging off tonight. :)"
FReepin' fudgicles, think I will, too.
Hi!
Hey, I came in late to this thread, but let me tell you, I have the same problem with my sister. She lives in Madison, WI and is a complete liberal. We just cannot talk politics.
I just laugh it off, and try to have a sense of humor about it. But it still bothers me that she is so brainwashed by her local liberal media, and doesn't care about the facts that are out there.
Of course, it's harder for you because you're still living under your parents' roof, but I am very amazed at how you're sticking up for your beliefs.
I wish I'd have had half the common sense at 16 that you do. It would have saved me a lot of trouble. :)
All the best...
Merry Christmas to you and your family...Randy
Ya, well, I think Rush gave us all a little advice today. I'm glad that the advice he gave me moved all of you enough for this to make it onto FR, and I think you all for visiting my site. If I ever get done answering emails, IMs, and message board posts, I'll even try to get some more blog entries up tonight. Thanks again!
Even though I didn't have political fights with my Dad, I had more than my share of fights with him when I was in High School. A lot of fights were over me listening to talk radio late at night. I would take a small radio under the sheets and put it up to my ear to listen. Somehow my father who must have an AMAZING sense of hearing heard me listening to it despite the fact it was barely audible and despite the fact that my bedroom door was closed. And when I say we had fights, they weren't just yelling type fights. I mean we got physical.
You are absolutely right. Even if you ignore the corrupt, cynical foundations of the Dems their public personas are ridiculous and off-putting. Makes you wonder hat it takes to get people (Dems) to actually see the reality of their Party.
I know, they are ideologues/zealots and therefore blind to any reason but one still has to wonder.
You bet!!! I have the biggest smile on my face. Wish I'd been that strong regarding my parents when I was sixteen.
RealTeen, hope to see a lot more of you. Bravo!
I'm proud of you for paying respect to your parents. My Dad was a strong Democrat all of his life. He was a union man and felt the Democrats stood behind the working man. Times change and it's often difficult to give up on long-held beliefs. Now, my husband and I are Republicans, as are our children; and our 9 and 12-year-old grandsons stand strongly behind President Bush.
Merry Christmas, God Bless you and your parents.
I really enjoyed your interaction with Rush today, Justin! It was inspiring and touching and I hope you can win your parents over to the right side one day.
Keep us posted on your progress!!

Great Call !
I thought you handled yourself very well.
Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas.
RealTeen. Since October. Also you can see his posts on THIS thread.
Real teen, and he has posted many times on this thread. Keep reading.
Real Teen
Post more often! Welcome to the FR!
Justin, good to see you.
Settle down, settle down, I see it. Thanks anyway.
So you then read the thread? Helluvathing dat.
Hippies and union thugs are about as close to commies as you could get to deal with, so you've got your work cut out for ya (if they take union propaganda as gospel but President Bush is a liar).
Someone should ask your dad what his union dues are buying in the way of politics lately (since about all unions are just another $$$ wing of the DNC). You could also ask if he enjoys working for Howard Dean.
Perhaps that may be a bit too 'in your face' for your parents, but the situation certainly calls for making DUmocrats look like fools (which they are fully capable of doing all by themselves). Your folks could certainly use a history lesson:
