U.S. officials have secretly monitored radiation levels at Muslim sites, including mosques and private homes, since September 11, 2001 as part of a top secret program searching for nuclear bombs, U.S. News and World Report said on Friday.

I have HAD IT with these MSM leakers! That's it, that's absolutely it. The only thing the MSM understands is money, so let's show them we don't have to give them any! It is time to BOYCOTT U.S. News and World Report and make an example of them to the rest of the treasonous MSM! Let's show them what outraged Freepers can do. Who's with me? Drop me a Freepmail and let's get this boycott rolling!

Another treasonous leak of likely classified information?

Perhaps we should have been monitoring the homes and offices of employees within the MSM for radiation ? We probably should be keeping an eye on both parts of the Unholy Alliance.

Bush et. al. may be getting closer to the Marxist cabal operatives. They are increasing the screeching of their hand puppets.

Personally, I believe that in the even of a catastrophic attack, Americans are gonna end up looking for and finding with someone completely outside the normal Beltway environment proficient in carrying out a rather gruesome retaliation.

When that dark day comes, America, just know that I'm only a FReepmail away.

The more of this stuff the MSM reveal, the more Americans who are not predisposed to like Bush approve of his actions.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Interesting how his pole numbers started to shoot up as he began to fight back, and as Times began their "eavesdropping" expose'. Media and the Dems are so upside down on the American people's feelings about fighting terrorism that they actually side with the enemy and overtly oppose the will of the people.

They should have been monitoring an equal number of Lutheran sites.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////

They could monitor all churches and not invade anyone's privacy by so doing. Radiation is an environmental hazard and endangers anyone exposed. Measuring levels does not measure anything else. I'm sure we measure C02 levels also. Do we complain about that? Even monitoring calls on cell phones is not an invasion of privacy, anyone who wants to listen can do so legally with the right equipment.

The MSM is already in hysterics over this.

actually they're doing us a favor by exposing how much the leftists in this country care about national security. I doubt that any of this is actually news to our enemies (they're not all stupid). This sudden cry for civil rights vs WOT will only sway more independents to our side. I sure wouldn't mind at least a threat of prosecution if classified info has really been leaked.

"I think the odds are better than 50/50 that a US city gets nuked in my lifetime."

I'd say the odds are better than 50/50 in the next five years, myself, although this is one instance where I'd really, really prefer to be wrong.

"The blam must be squarely placed on the employes of all our Intel Agencies that do the leaking."

Good typo, there. I'm envisioning just what sort of "blam" to place squarely on these leakers, myself ... a firing squad springs immediately to mind.

Or long prison sentences. And in there lies the little problem we are faced with. The beltway and L/MSM are not going to allow their folk to be punished. I write just to blow of steam. I realize the realities.

"I realize the realities."

Preventing another large scale attack is an incomprehensibly huge task. It's been said before that we only have to slip up once, while they only have to get lucky once.

The tide will turn in a major way, after that sad day finally arrives. I shudder at the price we'll pay, though.

I hope that GWB has sent out communications to all concerned in very strong words that this shit has to stop. If he has to for the sake of the nation, start threatening Intel org directorships on down, so be it. Obviously anything he would say publically against the L/MSM will be twisted, distorted and used against him. But surely within the goverment structure he must start getting very very tough.

You and I do not have the right to monitor cellplhones calls even the possession of the right equiptment is regulated.

However you may legally own radiation monitoring gear.

Actually , the news that G.W. Bush has been monitoring such sites improves my opinon of him.

I agree. My point about electronic surveillance is not that its legal, its that it is possible. Citizens spying on citizens was one of the favorite tools of the despot. If you want privacy, don't be stupid enough to talk on the public airways. Actually government monitoring of calls without a warrant would not be usable in any "criminal" proceeding domestically because our constitutional rights would make any evidence so obtained inadmissible. Obviously the left chooses to overlook this fact, to attack President Bush, and doesn't let facts interfere with a good paranoid conspiracy story. what is particularly offensive to me is they jeopardize our national security, and facilitate terror to perpetuate this unrelenting attack on conservative American patriots.

The environmentalists should be praising the BUSH administration for protecting the environment from harmful radiation.

Even if true, there may be very good reason to "leak" this type of rumor. Disinformation is an extremely effective counter-terrorism measure.

Is radiation easier to delect if it's on the move?

Would the ACLU prefer something a little more obvious, before conducting a search?
