I'd like to see some of the current republicans sent packing. If it means having to endure a dim for a few years, so be it. Some times you have to take a step backwards before you can proceed.

Actually, the fact is that we need to have 60 GOP Senators to get everything we want. Without that number, we have to accept the reality of not getting everything we want

The Republicans could hold 90 seats in the Senate, and they would still allow the Democrats to control the agenda.

This is an editorial column, right?

Actually, in the print edition, this is a half page sidebar 'article' opposite the main story "Congress OKs Patriot Act Extension" in the 'World & Nation' section of the paper (curiously, the main news article doesn't appear on Newsday's website)... however, the gist of this article is echoed in todays editorial section also: 'The push on Bush - Checks and balances are working', so I suppose it could be considered as an 'editorial news piece' leading up to the real editorial. And this paper claims to be objective? SHEESH!

"... With RINOS who needs enemies? ..."

Nailed it.

The "Republicans" have a majority in both houses and a "Republican" is president.

We can't hang this on the 'Rats.

Do you think the Democrats are getting everything they want?
