Let's not forget the role of Jimmy "Election Fraud Monitor Extraordinaire" Carter in Chavez' success.

We won't do anything to Chavez as he has the backing of our liberals in Congress. They applaud his fascist plan of taking over the oil industry and transferring the oil wealth to a select few while the masses will live in utter poverty.

If we have long term thinking leaders, we need to reinstate the draft to create a Home Guard force (that cannot be deployed overseas) for domestic/border defense. This large force is needed, in order to free up our National Guard/Reserves and active forces for any contingencies overseas. The way leftist governments are taking over northern South America (Venezeula, Bolivia, and half of Colombia), these tin horn leftists will start fighting amongst themselves to be the leader of the next South American crusade (always happens with facist/communist type dictators). It will mean social upheaval and refugees flooding northward, and we better have a domestic force to deal with it.

I was visiting with someone yesterday on this page about Bolivian cocaine. I made the point that if the Bolivians stepped up production of coca as their new presidente wants, more would be made into white powder and it would infect the local population.

Blow it up Exxon, like the guys did in Atlas Srhugged. Don't let them take it. Leave a burning pile of rubble for Chavez.

I have long thought that the citgo partnership is a big part of the reason chavez still sells us oil. If he is able to divest it I think it is almost certain he alters his supply arrangements with us, which is what he wants to do.

Point taken, I mean real-world for today, the new PC era of media-age politics where the needs of the fortune 100 and the altar of government regulation of all aspects of social life and thought trumps all else.

Obviously if this was 100 years ago, or maybe even 60, we would have either deposed the chavez government and put a puppet government in place OR formented rebellion in the oil-related provinces and supported them in a 'bid for independence' (panama 1903).
