WHY I LOVE OHIO AT CHRISTMAS TIME...

When it's Christmas time in Ohio,
And the gentle breezes blow,
About fifty miles an hour
And it's twenty-two below.
You can tell you're in Ohio
'cause the snow's up to your butt,
And you take a breath of Christmas air
And your nose holes both freeze shut.
The weather here is wonderful,
So I guess I'll hang around,
I could NEVER leave Ohio.
My feet are frozen to the ground.

Five more days. Cookies, Almond Roca bars and fudge prepared. Little more shopping to do for Mrsdd, and putting the finishing touches on the wind chimes I'm making for our girls.

Fathers are wonderful people
too little understood,
And we do not sing their praises
as often as we should...

For, somehow, Father seems to be
the man who pays the bills,
While Mother binds up little hurts
and nurses all our ills...

And Father struggles daily
to live up to "his image"
As protector and provider
and "hero of the scrimmage"...

And perhaps that is the reason
we sometimes get the notion
That Fathers are not subject
to the thing we call emotion,

But if you look inside Dad's heart,
where no one else can see,
You'll find he's sentimental
and as "soft" as he can be...

But he's too busy every day
in the gruelling race of life,
He leaves the sentimental stuff
to his partner and his wife...

But Fathers are just wonderful
in a million different ways,
And they merit loving compliments
and accolades of praise,

For the only reason Dad aspires
to fortune and success
Is to make the family proud of him
and to bring them happiness...

And like Our Heavenly Father,
he's a guardian and a guide,
Someone that we can count on
to be always on our side.

Yum on the recipe Aqua! Unfortunately any hickory nuts that have fallen have either been pillfered by squirrels or are covered in a couple feet of snow LOL! Will try to find some at the store or use pecans. Either way I'M MAKING THIS! YUM!

Hi again. The weekend was lovely AND Murphy law stayed away (after the plumber routed out out lines (full of roots etc. which was causing the backup!) (but I won't tell you about all the "red wine accidents" on my newly cleaned offwhite carpeting :o) )
