She's in the Dan Rather clique. She used to be marginally humorous, but now she's an eye-bleeder.
She reads the AP and Yahoo news and gets hardhitting reports on what's going down from the pages of The Nation, whose staff combs the streets of downtown Manhattan for hot leads on the Iraq situation.
Ivins is also former military and has a degree from UT in the history of warfare.
She's probably the best judge of the situation that we have and people should hang on her every word as if it were spun gold.
Molly Ivins has become a bad parody of herself and that was pretty sad to begin with.
What's going on brother. Wanted to say thanks for the words, thoughts and what you guys sent out. Came as a big boost to morale for some of the guys. Appreciate what you guys did. A lot of guys pretty impressed that some "guys I went to school" with would think of it, but hey, that's brotherhood.
Things here are going well. Luckily been on quite a few missions and, knock on wood, nothing too significant to occur. Pray everyday for my guys safety. Gotta say the news does a pretty poor job of telling what's happening. Most of Iraq actually isn't too bad. Just isolated events mainly from insurgents from other countries. Bad things do happen, tragedy every time, but from what I've seen most of the people over here believe in what they are doing and know, regardless of what CNN says, they are doing the right thing and helping others. Area I'm in known to be bad, but my guys training and aggressiveness has made it bearable. Amazes me everyday to watch their professionalism and acceptance of each mission.
Pretty cool to be here during these elections and see the progress being made. Wish the news would show the people making it here and how significantly this country has turned around.

It's just impossible for these people to say anything positive about the war on terror. It's impossible for them. I feel a little sorry for them - but not much.
