1/9 was deactivated and reactivated as 2/1 in September of 1994.

1/9 has been recently, sometime between 17 October 2005 and now, reactivated as part of 2nd MARDIV.

Thanks for the info and I wonder if they ever held the reactivation ceremony? I took part of the reactivation ceremony for the 5th Mar Div in '67 and it was a hell of an honor (and a hell of a party).
