Behold and See, it didn't work too well.

Now, now, there... don't rub it in too much. I was just a wee lad in Massachusetts in the late 60s, didn't get out much, and Ultimate Spinach sounded pretty good at the time.

I thought Ultimate Spinach was much better than The Beacon Street Union.

And Orpheus out of Worcester was OK in a folky way.

When asked about what he would do if the Muslims attacked us again, he said we'd be "Taking it to their sheets." And if Beijing attacked Taiwan, he said
"we'd be talkin' about China Gone."

"You mean when the Giants played the 49ers or Raiders?"

That would be with the 49ers when the G-Men and Niners were going at it quite a bit.

Ah yes, Boston trying to compete with San Francisco!

The Bosstown Sound! Gimme LaPeste or Mission of Burma anyday.

As far as Frisco, the only bands I liked out of that batch was Big Brother and QMS. I'll take the Beau Brummells over all the other hippie bands, hands down.

Orpheus! Haven't heard that name in a long while. Wasn't one of the Cars in the band?

Orpheus was Bruce Arnold, Jack McKennes, Eric Gulliksen (a.k.a. the Snake), and Harry Sandler.

AFAIK they never went on to other bands. They are local to New England and used to do "reunion" concerts not as Orpheus (there was a "second" Orpheus with Steve Martin from Congress Alley fame plus Bruce isn't involved)) but as Jack, Harry, and The Snake.
