I wonder what beautiful room in the White House they're in? It looks as if they're on the second floor.
Good explanation of why they waited to fire back on Iraq criticism.
"Sometimes it's hard for me to burn through" (talking about the media and getting his message out.
I love it, "Sometimes it is hard to burn through the filter."
Our mission in Iraq is to punish the guilty and protect the innocent. The enemy targets the innocent.

Did this start at the top of the hour? I just got home during the 0:15 commercial break. Darn.
A:"that we lose our nerve"
"Iran is a real threat. Called it the axis of evil for a reason."
My greatest fear??? That we lose our nerve.
First there were some clips and a commentary. This started about 15 minutes in.
Funny, I was wondering the same thing :)
He seemed a little uneasy at the beginning, but has settled in now.
MISSING the first part of the second segment..SORRY!!
Brit: You took a question the other day about iraqi casualties and used the number 30,000. Why did you decide to take those questions, and second thing is where did you get the number 30,000?
>> First, I thought about the morning of the trip, i thought it would be kind of -- it would be an interesting diversion in the sense. People expect one thing and sometimes you do the unexpected in the public arena helps draw attention to a speech -- i can't say it would have been ignored, but sometimes it's hard for me to burn through the filter. And secondly, that was a number that's been floating around the public. There was a number that was in the press. The 30,000 iraqis I, i must tell you it's speculative. I don't think anybody knows the exact number. What's important for the american people to know is that one that's -- our mission in iraq is to target the guilty and protect the innocenT. Precision weapons and good intelligence. The terrorists's mission in iraq is to target the innocenT. Brit: It is widely said that there were some critical errors made in the early going, one of them being the disbanding of the military and debath fix over there. Did you make any mistakes?
>> No question we made tactical mistakes. We trained one group of people to fight exernl threats and internal threats and the internal threats weren't trained. On reconstruction, there were big projects right off the bat as opposed to focusing on projects on a regional basis. On the political front, we started off with a c.P.A. We felt should be there for 18 months and basically tell the iraqis what to do all the time, and yet change, because it was apparent that the iraqis wanted sovreignty sooner and wanted to run their own governmenT. Our strategy has been the same. Remove saddam hussein and establish a democracy. Our tactics have changed, depending on the conditions on the ground. Brit: Can you say today if you know then what you know now about the decision, would you have made the same decision?
>> I have said it throughout the campaign, i said i made the right decision. Knowing what i know today, i would have made the right decision. Brit: If the weapons had been out of the equation because the intelligence did not conclude he had them, it was still the right call?
>> AbsolutelY. Brit: What worries you most about iraq and the potential outcome?
>> We lose our nerve. We can't be defeated militarily. And that the enemy has got the capacity and the willingness to kill innocent people and those pictures get our tv screens and americans say we are aren't making progress, let's get the boys out. It's not going to happen as long as i'm the president. But that's what worries me the most. We forget the stakes on the war on terror and lose our nerve. Brit: One last country, iran?
>> It is a real threat. You might remember i called it part of the axis of evil for a reason. It has little transparency, a country whose president has declared the destruction of israel as part of their foreign policy and a country that will not listen to the demands of the free world to get rid of its nuclear weapons. We continue to work the front. Brit: What is your objective?
>> End tyranny. And my view is a pauseful world in which democracies live side by sidE. And I believe in freedom. And -- brit: For the current rulers of that country?
>> I hope they are wise enough to listen to the people and allow the people to participate in that government. Brit: In case you are wondering who the woman was in his left shoulder, that is his grandmother..
Have always liked Brit Hume. When consumers get to pick and chose which cable TV channels they want, Fox News is tops on my list of must haves.
Grrrreat Job, GRRRR :)
I have a problem with ol Shep Smith in the news updates though.
After the election, he wanted to bring the country together and give people a chance to support the war and rise above politics. It didn't happen.
He was prepared to start firing back in September, but then Katrina hit and that was all anyone wanted to hear about. Then he had foreign trips scheduled. He said he thinks this is the first opportunity he has had since September to get the attention of the public.
An excellent explanation. Thank you for recapping it.
So far very good interview!
Rummy stays. Eat that mcCain.
Strong endorsement of Delay's abilities as well as confidence in his innocence.
Cheny and Rove strong endorsements.
Damn, Liberals must be seething. All their most hated embraced by the President.
Wish I could have been online a little earlier to join in the discussion from the start. Going to speak of his faith next.
