A Shiite and Kurdish dominated Army and Police, equipped and trained by US, backed by US airpower would not take prisoner. They do counter insurgency the Arab way. Capture prisoner, torture for info, shoot prisoner, then they take it out on his immediate family. No Iraqi MSM or human rights groups to screw with them. Foreign MSM and human rights groups will be kicked out of the country. The US was gentle compared to what is installed for the Sunni minority.
