The number is definitely 100. The two diamond shaped characters are an Arab zero. The stylized "1" is very similar to our 1. I know the Arabic number system from work in the Middle East in a previous life.

I think the writing in the lower right-hand corner says "100 Dinar."

And just as a very technical aside, while Arabic writing reads from right to left, the numbers read from left to right. Go figure.

That's probably because "Arabic" numerals were a borrowed concept from India, where languages and numbers read from left to right.
