I thought he resigned his Chairmanship, not Professorship... ?
I read he'd resigned a chairmanship--but he's tenured, so he'll be a goofball around their nexts into perpetuity.
Washing the egg off his face?
If one of the guys who beat him up was wearing red wool gloves, were any red wool fibers found on the professor's person?
I'm glad Michelle Malkin (What a babe!) is onto this story. If anyone can smoke out a phony, she can.
Mirecki's story does appear to be taking on water.
You find it hard to believe until you find yourself in the middle of this sickness, which I did once. Feeling so sorry for the poor Mommy with the sick child, until you learn how the child got sick in the first place.
Addiction to sympathetic attn is totally weird, but it's totally out there and ready to bite you. It really happens, and really exists.
Can you virtually ignore egg when it's on your face?
Only in liberal academia could a militant atheist who sneeringly calls Bible believing Christians "fundies" be chairman of the Religious Studies Department.
Why not put a Klansman in charge of the Black Studies Department?
"red wool gloves"? What is that, Little House on the Prairie?
We live in serious glove country and they're either insulated with a nylon shell or leather. I can't recall the last time I've seen anyone wear wool gloves anyway. They get too soaked the minute they get any snow on them. And *red*?!?!
This initially started out as a hate crime investigation, didn't it? Which is a felony, if someone commits it? The cops didn't check to see if red wool fibers were left by a guy the prof said was whaling on him? If they did check, and couldn't find any fibers...I'd say the prof has some splainin' to do.
You can't drive with wool gloves--your hands slip on the wheel--you can't work with a tool. Everyone I see wears leather with a wool lining--
Filing a false police report is a crime.
You need to get out more!
You betcha. I wonder if the cops give a darn.
KU-KU.
Depends on a lot of things. I've heard that charges were placed in other "autoharassment" cases. If Mirecki had accused any identifiable person, he'd also find himself actionable for several torts.
Well, if he made the whole thing up, even if he didn't accuse anyone specifically, he ought to be hauled up on charges.
Yes--that's a criminal matter. But other autoharassers have found themselves in civil court with their accused for libel, (filing a false police statement against someone is also a tort on its own), fraud...etc. Sharpton had a high judgement against him because he accused police in the Tawanna Brawley business.
I wonder if any autoharrassing occurred at all. I wonder if the prof was channelling Charles Stuart.
I sure don't think it was pickuptruck-harassment, as he described.
