No doubt someone will pickup where he left off, with even a better product.
You think other states don't have business that move or go out of business? What fairy land are you living in?
A surf shop closing it's doors is not the end of the world FRiend. So take a deep breath and relax.
I personally know a few perfectly respectable professionals who surf in the mornings before they go to work. Some people jog, some surf (helps to live near the beach of course!).
Anyway, I wouldn't call them all "bums".
If you read my post #5, you'll see that I agree with you on that point. Surfboards, or the lack thereof, will neither make or break society as we know it
My point to you was about the general degradation of society, much of which can be blamed on the CA culture of the last 50 years. If you'll think honestly about it, you'll easily find hundreds of example of what I am talking about.
Tell that to the Texas Gulf Surfing Association!
Those folks, obviously, weren't the ones to which I was referring.
"All" of any group is rarely anything specific.
TWO! Two Red States for surfing! Ah ah ah!
This is true in many areas of business.
For example, I'm building a new house. I have a few thousand feet of baseboard, door trim, window trim and crown molding. I can buy MDF moldings from a manufacturer in the US or one in China (both sold in California locally). The one made in the US has a really poor rough finish. The one from China is much smoother and will paint significantly better. I'm told the rough finish is due to the primer that the company is forced to use to meet VOC environmental laws. The US made trim seems denser and better made. But the finish is a serious problem. The US company can't compete because of this.
Sooner or later it's going to catch up to all of us big time.
What makes you think that that same whirlwind isn't going to consume you too? It's on its way whether you think so or not.
See a doctor.
Does that include Ted Kennedy? :o)
Like Reagan?
It may at that, FRiend, but I'll tell you - living in a rural part of a southern, still God-fearing state means that the whirlwind will take alot longer to reach me than it will the far-left coast.
Here, I still have a small measure of control over my own life and property. Here, we don't yet have Gay Pride parades taking over our streets. Here, we don't yet have azzhats suing to remove the Pledge of Allegiance from schools or "In God We Trust" from currency. Here, we are not yet closing hospitals due to the flood of illegal aliens. Here, gang-bangers don't control our streets and dope dealers don't rule our neighborhoods. Here, we still have a right to defend ourselves and our loved ones and our posessions from harm. Here, we don't yet have public officials that violate laws by allowing homos to get marriage licenses. (I could go on and on)
All these things may yet come to pass in my area; but they may just as well not. We here don't have the totally permissive, morally equivalent culture that prevails in CA. Here, a person still saddles his own horse and shoots his own snakes. Here, a traitor to his country is ostracised instead of coddled. Here, a criminal does his/her time or is executed without a 24 year delay.
No FRiend; you have far more to worry about from that whirlwind, at this point in time, than I do.
Even a stopped-clock is right twice a day.
LOL! Literally.
toluene diisocyanate is a nasty solvent. I got out of the decorating business because virtually every product is toluene based, even floor wax.
Hell you can't even wax skis without exposing yourself to the stuff. But hey, it dries fast and increases your productivity until you croak.
By the way, I'd bet there are more conservatives in CA than in your state.
Unfortunately there are more liberals...
True enough. G'night, FRiend.
They will just move the company to Mexico.
IIRC, California had its own standards for emissions equipment on automobiles, requiring a 'boutique' emission control package on any vehicle sold there. It may still.
That cost gobs of money to set up back when, just so the cars could be sold there.
