"I will not return "to an unjust court""

I'm outta here!

Former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein gestures during his trial held under tight security in Baghdads heavily fortified Green Zone, Tuesday Dec. 6, 2005. Saddam and seven others face charges that they ordered the killing in 1982 of nearly 150 people in the mainly Shiite village of Dujail, north of Baghdad, after a failed attempt on the former dictators life. Saddam Vows No Return to 'Unjust' Court Poor Saddam seems to be having trouble internalizing the "deposed" concept.

"Saddam Hussein and his comrades are not afraid of execution."

Methinks he doth protest too much...

What I don't understand:
How can there be a trial? Defendants cannot be tried for breaking laws that did not exist at the time - and at the time, Saddam _was_ the law.
The trial is a farce, unable to legitimately charge him with anything precisely because whatever he did was, by definition (acting soveriegn tyrant), lawful.

Romania had the right idea.
The proper way to deal with Saddam is simply put him back in the hole, this time with a "pineapple".
