When Bush gives a speech, it's generally during the daytime when most people are at work, and only a small percentage of the public will catch the rerun on C-SPAN in the evening, assuming C-SPAN fits it in among the left-wing events that form the bulk of its programming.

I rarely watch the network news, but my impression is that whenever they do cover anything Bush says, they give equal time to a strident Democratic spokesman attacking him.

When Murtha made his proposal to leave Iraq immediately, that got tons of coverage. When Lieberman made his statements more recently encouraging staying the course, that was virtually ignored...Brit had an item listing the major outlets that didn't mention it at all.
