Well, we'll just have to set up comfort stations along the Mexican border to make sure the *******s have enough food and water, good running shoes, and free cell phones. Well then, you'll enjoy this article from last month...not sure when the cell phones will be issued...
Designer Donates Sneakers for Border Run
The high-top sneakers cost $215 at a San Diego boutique, but the designer is giving them away to migrants before they cross to this side of the U.S.-Mexico border. These are no ordinary shoes. A compass and flashlight dangle from one shoelace. The pocket in the tongue is for money or pain relievers. A rough map of the border region is printed on a removable insole. They are red, white and green, the colors of the Mexican flag. On the back ankle, a drawing of Mexico's patron saint of migrants. .....

The county includes Buford Highway, the main thoroughfare for one of the state's highest concentrations of Hispanic immigrants. It's not unusual for cars to travel more than 50 mph down the highway and come within feet of hitting a family standing precariously in the middle of a lane, waiting for a break in traffic to complete their crossing. Along the highway, some crosswalks are more than a half-mile apart. I work in this area and can attest that these people are idiots. Four lanes with a suicide lane, heavy traffic at all times and these people with four kids are crossing against lights. Compound this with half the drivers in the area whose last vehicle was a burro and you have a problem. The signs are all in Spanish, I guess they just can't read either.

It's more of a socioeconomic issue and lack of planning than a Latino issue," said Jerry Gonzalez, spokesman for the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials. Yeah, we didn't plan to be invaded by millions of illegals who won't learn our language and have minimal to nonexistant job skills.

It's not just illegal aliens who get killed crossing the street.
You're right, of course. But newspaper articles aren't published to tell a story...they're published in order to create a public perception that will result in social change.
Are you ready to buy a car for an illegal? This author certainly thinks you should...

No but might chip in for a pine box to ship them home.

I used to live by a busy two-lane highway when I was a kid. I was told so often that it was dangerous (and saw a lot of dead animals on it), that I knew to stay away from it. Even at that, I had to stand by it to catch the school bus. The big trucks, and even some cars, whizzing by at 70 mph or more used to scare the brown out of me. I can't imagine a responsible parent trying to cross a six lane with children.

They know they're taking a risk, but they haven't many other options."

Standing in the way for many are immigration-related issues, such as the difficulty of getting a driver's license...Unfortunately, I didn't think it was that difficult for illegal aliens to get drivers' licenses.
And, if they really are "immigrants" - meaning in the United States legally, there should be no problems getting licenses.

Critics blame poor urban planning???? 99% of the population drives a car. Now these wetback illegals show up, and instead of kicking their asses out, we have to become bilingual and change our cities?????

That was a bit of hyperbole, but the point is that articles of this nature are written to engender support for change.

Give them a free car with no driver's license or insurance and free gas and head them out on the highways. Maybe they can eliminate a few American citizens who Bush says are too lazy to work. Kills two birds with one stone, as it were, and will make the Bush people happy.

So basically, if you buy uninsured motorist insurance, you are paying the premiums that illegal aliens refuse to pay, but your insurance company needs to stay solvent, to keep their cash flow going. Every day we find out new facts that make us realize that we are paying out of our pockets for the comfort and safety of invaders, many who probably never saw a car before in their lives and can't speak or read English, and who have absolutely no respect for our laws or customs.
Mr. President, WHY is this OUR financial responsibility? WHY won't you demand payment in the amount of billions of dollars every year from the countries who are sending their poverty here?
It is WE who need fair representation, not invaders.

The county [DeKalb] includes Buford Highway, the main thoroughfare for one of the state's highest concentrations of Hispanic immigrants...[State officials] are planning to install "refuge islands" or raised medians so crossers can safely divide their trips across the seven-lane highway.Great, DeKalb is my county. More $$$ spent becausse of Illegal Aliens.
Go back to Mexico and points south.
