hey, I agree with you but that's not the reality of the issue today, and now I publicly challenge I think his point is that we should be fighting to get gun control laws either repealed or declared unconsitutional. We should not be adding more laws that infringe on the inalienable right to keep and bear arms, even if the infringement would be less than under current laws.

I seem to recall that one has to take an approved course of instruction at a cost of $150-200 bucks or so.
Here the course is $50 and the filing fee is $50.

I wish I lived in New Mexico. Here in NJ I am getting the run around for obtaining a purchaser's permit. The detective in my local PD that is conducting the background investigation is dragging her feet. First, she asked for proof of residence. Never mind I actually had to provide a copy of my driver's license with the application when I submitted it. She wanted me to give another copy and waited to tell me this for two weeks after I had originally submitted the application. No problem, I provided the additional copy of my license.
A week later she called me to say that there were "problems" with my references. I am trying to call her back to ask what the "problems" are, but the other trick she likes to pull is to call once and never follow up when I return her phone calls. She finally left a message blathering something about needing two more references and that the references I originally obtained were "different" whatever that means. I saw both references (the two friends who filled out the letters saved copies for me) and given what I saw, I can't tell you how they are "different" or what the hell the significance would be if they were. Each person might answer questions differently, but as long as nobody says I am a nutjob, wife beater or a boozer what is the problem. I am now being told I need two more references. Again, delay, delay, delay.
Oh, by the way, the questions asked on the reference letters are so biased as to be easily interpreted against the applicant. I will continue to play the game and give two more references. But I am getting the sense that there will be more "problems" no matter how anyone answers the questionnaire.
