He can just talk to himself. On October 26th he made a speech calling for a 20,000 troop withdrawl immediately after the December election with the bulk of the remaing troops out by the end of 2006.

Here is how it works.

Everytime a Republican President speaks the media goes to the Democrats and asks for one of the following based on media coverage.

If the main stream media (NBC,CBS,ABC) covers the presidents speech live they ask the Democrats to chose a speaker to be given equal time to repond to the President's speech. They put the Democrat on immediately after the President's speech and give him equal time.

If main stream media does not cover the presidents speech live they ask the Democrats to hold a "PRESS CONFERENCE" to start immediately after the president speaks. That way the media will have intant access to the Democrat's opposition to what ever the president said.

If Republicans tried to hold a press conference after the presidents speech the media would call that UNFAIR. The media would only cover the Republican press conference where the media asked why Republicans were afaid to let the voters hear the Democrats comments on the presidents speech. Should the Republicans try for such a press conference all coverage would be about Republicans trying to prevent the public from hearing what the Demorats had to say.

The media expects that many on the right will blame the Republicans for not holding a press conference. They believe that people on the right are dumb, and can't see through their control of information.

Lincoln had it right. You can fool some of the people all of the time. The media does!!!

The words "John Kerry" and "clarification" should NEVER be used in the same sentence.

At no point did we ever propose a deadline for withdrawl.

Huh? There are Democrat elected officials websites with specific dates for withdrawal. These guys are floundering with the best of them.

Did you hear the new show "Survivor" is starting on the DNC cable focusing on which democrat will be the last one alive on the DNC sinking ship. Oops! CBS already has a show called "Survivor"! So much for original thinking!

I got this last week (the original looks MUCH better, but I'm a newbie...)

Montana Style Survivor

Due to the popularity of the Survivor's shows, Montana is planning to do its own, titled "Survivor - Montana Style.”

The contestants will start in Billings; travel to Bozeman and on to Butte. Then they will head north to Helena, Great Falls, Conrad and Shelby. From there they will proceed east through Havre and to Wolf Point. Then they will go south to Circle, where they will go west through Jordan and with the final leg through Roundup and back to Billings.

Each contestant will be driving a pink Volvo with California license plates and a large bumper sticker that reads:
---
I'm gay
I'm a Vegetarian
Peace Now, Screw the troops
Beer is harmful to your health
Republicans suck
Hillary in 2008
Deer hunting is murder, and I'm here to confiscate your guns.
---
The first contestant that makes it back to Billings alive wins. Good luck.

Recall Adm Hoffman's statement on Kerry's 4 month VN service......."He bugged out."
Tonk , you're much better at finding stuff than I am. I think another round of the testimonials from the SBVTs.....the guys who served with the fraud in the Delta....is appropriate now.
During Kerry's brief tour in the Delta , he wasn't concerned with the success of the mission of the Swift Boats and the Coast Guard to open the waterways to commerce and suppress infiltration. He bugged out!

John Kerry's service in Vietnam lasted 4 months and 12 days, beginning in November 1968 when he reported to Cam Rahn Bay for a month of training. His abbreviated combat tour ended shortly after he requested a transfer out of Vietnam on March 17, 1969, citing Navy instruction 1300.39 permitting personnel with three Purple Hearts to request reassignment. So far as we are able to determine, Kerry was the only Swift sailor ever to leave Vietnam without completing the standard one-year tour of duty, other than those who were seriously wounded or killed.

The instruction, titled 1300.39, says that a Naval officer who requires hospitalization on two separate occasions, or who receives three wounds "regardless of the nature of the wounds," can ask a superior officer to request a reassignment. The instruction makes clear the reassignment is not automatic.

It says that the reassignment "will be determined after consideration of his physical classification for duty and on an individual basis." Because Kerry's wounds were not considered serious, his reassignment appears to have been made on an individual basis. Moreover, the instruction makes clear that Kerry could have asked that any reassignment be waived.

The bottom line is that Kerry could have remained but he chose to seek an early transfer. He met with Horne, who agreed to forward the request, which Horne said probably ensured final approval. The Navy could not say how many other officers or sailors got a similar early release from combat, but it was unusual for anyone to have three Purple Hearts.
