Among all existing stores on at any given date in history, one of them will have the lowest overall prices for the mix of goods it sells. That is a mathematical law. Anybody who cares about price will tend to shop there. That is an economic law. And some liberal will whine about it. That part is completely voluntary.

I think this whiny jerk's wife is buying earplugs so she doesn't have to listen to his liberal whining. Good God what a pathetic piece. Little wonder papers are losing money. Just think, if they all closed, liberals would only have government and universities left to work at.

My daughter and her husband are both 38, and WM is the only job they've ever had. They own a house worth about 2.5 mil, and have about that same amount in their 401k's.
Not too shabby for two people with only HS educations...
BTW, they have little patience for WM bashers.

"....heavy-duty earplugs that hunters wear so they won't be deafened by the thunderclaps of their weapons when they're pulverizing wild animals".

I actually prefer my wild animals shredded. It makes them much more tender, especially the little, young ones.

-I do not shop at Wal-Mart for a couple of reasons. One, because there's no Wal-Mart particularly close to my house-

You can bet that's the only reason.

Reading that part told me the writer is a moralizing, birkenstock-wearing, warm and fuzzy, damn stinking liberal, therefore I read no further.

He probably has a coyote feeding station in his backyard, too.

"I'm still not sure we can afford kids for crying out loud!"

Trust me you can't. But you would be a fool to let that stop you. In the long run they pay back a lot more than they cost. (Caution: disregard last sentence during teenage years.)

The best part is - this goober will be looking for a real job when his lousy fishwrap goes toes up like all the other lousy fishwraps in this country will.

Guess where he's going to end up.

When I first read the article I got the impression that she was buying them because she wanted to be able to sleep--due to his loud snoring.

Wal-mart is a first employer for single individuals or a second employer for retirees looking for a second income.

Look at the staff of an average Wal-Mart and you would see that the majority are somewhere between your two extremes.
