That has not restricted news sites like The Miami Herald, El Nuevo Herald, The New York Times and The Washington Post, Espinosa added in a telephone interview from Havana. Great. . . politics 'ala Fidel'. . .and no doubt Fidel's morning read after Pravda. . .
My only exception to note here is that the fear these communists experience re information; is not pathological but in fact, reality based and so, quite real. . .
Maybe U.S. should do flyovers. . .drop 'WSJ' and Washington Times. . .include web address for 'Free Republic'. . .

Give 'em internet. The people will be free-er and it's much cheaper than overthrowing Castro by force.

My cousins in Cuba only can access the internet because they "know someone". Most of the people there are sending emails using yahoo accounts out of spain Interesting. . .can your cousins access. . or even lurk. ..at Free Republic?
Surely we must realize that Cuba's nightmare is a 'Leftist dream' here; and as we speak; efforts to control our internet are being initiated.
Should Hillary. . .ascend - and it would be an ascension in her case - to the White House; guaranteed, faster than one can say 'health care'. . .the internet will be her lusty; self-empowering, challenge if not just her 'grab bag'. . .
Meantime, we do have some Repubs to take care of. . .and of course, the rest of the Lefties who are determined to build a 'field of nightmares'. . .in our own backyard.

I thought they were trying to take the internet away from us, not create a separate DWW.

The Cuban regime doesn't have the resources to police the Internet use of the entire population. So it has decided to ban access to the Internet outright. For a tyranny, freedom is a dangerous thing. One idea could be the spark that burns the Communist dictatorship down.

You can access Cuban government and Communist Party websites. But naturally, there are no private or individual websites in Cuba and information is tightly censored even for those in the Party elites. So the vast majority of Cubans are kept in the dark about conditions at home and abroad by the state. They know only what the government and Party newspapers tell them.
