Forty caliber, and forty too for the mother.

"Unless you can prove she knew beforehand that he was going to do it and planned to leave with him after the deed was done, there's nothing to charge."

That may be the cruix of the matter.

She 'may' have planned this with her boyfriend before returning home, but without a confession from either of them, the DA would have a hard time proving it.

Lizzie and her sister had no descendants.

She can't go "willingly" because she is a minor.

Of course she can go willingly, minor or not. That's why in many states (including Pennsylvania), she could be tried as an adult.

Hmm seem to think that she should be investigated for exactly that. Did she conspire, did she know or suspectthat he would do this, did she help in setting up the meeting, did she help in any way of him abating police, did she provide money, etc....

And there lies the problem. Unless he implicates her or she confesses, it's all on him.

What charges?

Accessory to murder. Before or after-the-fact, whichever is pertinent.

I think she is being investigated- the prosecutors, I think believe that she was in on it, but they need proof.

Since they were so close,my question would be did she know he had a gun and if so, did she believe he would use it?

Too many unanswered questions in this article.

Yes, it is a strange coincidence, but it would take quite some research. Lizzie didn't marry, did she? So Mike could not be a direct descendent. From what I could tell by a quick genealogical search, Lizzie's father and grandfather had all girls, so you would have to go back several generations to see how the Borden name carries forward. If Mike was kin, he would have been distant kin.

Seems hard to believe she didn't know he had a gun if she had been out all night presumably
messing around with him. If she was troubled by the deaths or had any concern for her siblings
you'd think she would have hung around rather than left with the murderer. That little tramp
bears a moral burden if not a legal one.

"W/o the parent's consent."

Little hard to give 'consent' when you are dead.

***I'm starting my stopwatch now. Let's see how long it takes for her lawyer to claim she was monstrously abused by both parents.***

EXACTLY!

My thoughts as well.

The normal response to someone killing your parents would be to run screaming from the house looking for help.

Not getting in a car with the murderer.

Tragic! I hope he gets the death penalty and she is locked up for life. My daughter was a willful 14 year old and had to be constrained from time to time but I would never have imagined anything like this happening around here. Tragic tragic tragic.

My thoughts also. Can a 14 year old "willingly" have sex with a 30 year old man?

Remains to be seen whether or not she had advance knowledge. Accessory after the fact is a possibility, but no death penalty for her. (We don't execute stupid little girls.)

I bet the history of communication on their internet blogs will make interesting reading.
