Years ago I found that the reason cow men hate sheep is that after a meadow was grazed by sheep, Loco weed then would sprout up in the area.

That's a characteristic of lazy shepherds, not sheep herding in general. Lazy cowmen have their own issues. Suffice it to say, bad stewardship has its consequences, while grazing done properly can improve the condition of the land.
