I live on the Westside of PDX..yes,the wealthy area (altho I am not wealthy) and it has been sunny here for 10 days. Now maybe the Eastside of PDX ( the lefty side) is murky because of "inversion" but not over here!!! HeHeHe

I think you have a valid point.
They could use foam and have a safe landing IMO.
I saw on TV the other day a video of a plane whose landing gear would not come down at all.
It landed safely, no fire and no injuries and no foam.

It might be a while. They're going to fly around and burn as much fuel as they can, and maybe work on getting the gear down. (Most business jets cannot dump fuel, so they have to just fly around and use it up.)

I don't have a TV here so I can't see what's going on. And to be honest, I wouldn't trust 99% of reporters anyhow. I swear sometimes they can't tell which end of the plane goes in front.

They are coming in at Hillsborough, not Portland. I think they may still land at Portland. They're doing their maneuvers at Hillsborough, but Portland is a better choice for a potential emergency.
