"Headline writing is a curious in-house craft - and well worth following. Changing headline language is a good signal that something's up. When the president attacks, it's now commonly said that he's "lashing out" - an image of emotional disarray distinctly at odds with the once-powerful sense of the Bush administration as the most disciplined White House on record and of the president and vice president as resolutely unflappable."

///////

"Lashing out, stalked, dogged, under siege, counterattacking, fighting a rearguard action - let's not just attribute this to "newly aggressive war critics". It's a long-coming shift in the zeitgeist, as evident in the media as in the halls of Congress."

/////////////

"No presidential "counterattack", no "lashing out", no set of speeches or new agenda (to be announced in the 2006 State of the Union Address or anywhere else) is likely to change any of this for the better for this president. Fear is no longer on the Bush administration's side. No wonder they're now afraid - very, very afraid."

//////////////

Above article is the latest in a new media trend....creating a new future by discussing it as if it is already here.

Below is Zacs Mom Collage of American Traitors who mouth the lies about GW and Iraq.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within.
An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known, and he carries his banners openly. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very hall of government itself. For the traitor appears no traitor.
He speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their garments, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in hearts of men.
He rots the soul of a nation. He works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city. He infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A Murderer Is Less To Be Feared." Cicero, 42 B.C.

None of this would have been possible even weeks ago in a country where it was once gospel that you don't attack a president while he's representing the United States abroad.

And Bill Clinton went to Qatar last week and said Iraq was a mistake, while Hillary sits on her prim little hands.

This is no "shift." It's a coordinated, strategic attack with no quarter. It's probing with pikes and once blood is stuck you send in the hyenas.

Starting on September 11, 2001 - with a monstrous helping hand from Osama bin Laden - the Bush administration played the fear card with unbelievable effectiveness. For years, with its companion "war on terror", it trumped every other card in the American political deck. With an absurd system for color-coding dangers to Americans, the president, vice president and the highest officials in this land were able to paint the media a "high" incendiary orange and the Democrats an "elevated" bright yellow, functionally sidelining them.

Without a doubt, that has to be one of the most absurd paragraphs I have ever seen printed.

Screw the Democrats, as well as the author of this article -undoubtedly a Democrat himself. All their little dreams and schemes depend on a dreamworld that doesn't exist.

This guy is coming from an alternate universe. Who ever said we wouldn't take casualties on an ongoing basis? The democratization of Iraq is going as well as I ever hoped it would. The war on terror is going better than I thought it would. But I thought the President would get full credit for his successes in Iraq.

Pres. Bush's failure seems to be in not talking over the US media directly to the US public. This needs to be done daily to get the message out.

The Democrats changed all that; it's all they have.

The correct name of this left wing hater of a strong America, is Tom Engelhardt.

He has a long history of hating a strong American and President Bush.

This is just another one of many of his perverted wet dreams posing as an oped.

Below is his website to read about "Imperial America" and other hate America attacks.

Yeah, really. What alternate universe did this nutbar just beam over from? Gotta love these idiots. They've gotten so good at revisionism that they can 'change' history as it's happening.

one of the audacious wishes of this pile of vile verbage is that the author thinks that no amount of administration counterattack will be effective

in your dreams...on another thread is Cheney's excellent speech...

the poll numbers dropped because of Harriet...not because of the Iraq War...

now that Harriet is withdrawn, Bush will repair his base and move the program forward

Those are two of the biggest traitors in our senate.

Kennedy has trained his hand puppet Kerry since Kerry was a teenager, in college, before Nam, in Nam and after Nam.
