The New Mexico State Police got a bird's eye view of Baton Rouge cops in action -- and didn't like what they saw. New Mexico State Police officers Daniel Lopez and Bryan Byrd patrol the Convention Center. "Our guys were in disbelief that these sorts of things would still be taking place in any part of the country," Lopez said of behavior by Baton Rouge law-enforcement officials.

Not NM news per se, but it sounds like y'all have at least a couple honest cops in your state.
To: IronJack
Mayor Nagin is not the mayor of Baton Rouge.

Its attitude of the entire state...doesn't matter if you are in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, or Shreveport. This is not the place you'd want to retire to. I lived there for 2 years and just laughed at the entire way local governments ran things, and with police authoritity. Nothing works like it should in the other 49 states.

This is the same NM state police group who found the body of a young woman dressed in scrubs who had been shot in the head in Memorial Hospital when they were recovering bodies. The NO cops said there was no such corpse, because NO cops had been in that hospital during the flooding. There is so much corruption in that puss-pocket of a city that it would be an affront to Sodom and Gomorrah to rebuild it.

it sounds like y'all have at least a couple honest cops in your state.Looks like it. Of course, these guys are not exactly as pure as the driven snow.
You may recall the downtown Albuquerque wee-hour fistfight betweeen a couple of Staties and APD.
They did a good job calling attention to this.

Mayor Nagin is not the mayor of Baton Rouge. The graft took place in New Orleans, not Baton Rouge.

I guess you didn't even bother to read the article did you? I'm not surprised. If you are going to make fun of people, at least get your facts straight or else you become the fool.

What part of that is so difficult to understand, idiot? The Convention Center they're speaking of is in NEW ORLEANS! The cops were from Baton Rouge, yes, but the corruption took place in New Orleans.
And I wasn't making fun of anybody but the lowlife crooks who flourished under Mayor Nagin, Gov. Blanco, and the rest of the criminally incompetent Louisiana power structure. If that offends you, then you're even more a fool than your repeated posts demonstrate.

First, the Baton Rouge police ultimately answer to the Baton Rouge mayor, not the mayor of New Orleans. Second, the abuses were what the NMSP observed AFTER BEING TRANSFERRED TO BR!!! I feel like I have to shout because maybe you have trouble comprehending. Like I said, learn how to read.

Here, read paragraphs 2 and 3:
The Sante Fe Reporter has learned New Mexico police allege they witnessed numerous and shocking incidents of police abuse committed by members of the Baton Rouge Police Department.
According to New Mexico Department of Public Safety spokesman Peter Olson, the alleged incidents -- striking suspects in handcuffs, shooting innocent bystanders with taser guns and destroying property for no apparent reason -- occurred while New Mexico State Police patrolled Baton Rouge alongside local cops beginning Sept. 9.
Now we all know why you are no longer a newspaper editor! Hahahahaha!!!!
