Did you notice that to the right of that story the paper allows advertisers to say Christmas Trees for Sale, though.

I'm surprised that "Thanksgiving" was actually mentioned by name. Thanksgiving is next...after Christmas is dead and buried.
Incrementalism.

Well, Kwanza is their favorite - because it is a made-up holiday by the diverification crowd.

I emailed the newspaper asking them why they avoided using the word Christmas. I asked him if he was afraid of the word Christmas or if he found it offensive.
Surprise: I just got a very nice email back from the managing editor, Eric Conrad. He agreed that the story would have been better if the words Christmas or Christmas tree had been used. His response sounded quite genuine.

...but they'll never take Christmas out of our hearts and minds. I wouldn't be so sure and I certainly wouldn't dismiss their efforts. The fact that they are even trying should give you pause. They obviously think they can pull it off, and for good reason I suspect. It's also obvious to me they have been emboldened by the lack of response from CINO's(Christians In Name Only).
Maybe they will rename it the "Spending Tree" in honor of the spending spree. That's really about all that's left.

THEY, can try all THEY want. THEY are the minority liberal elite that are trying desperately to undermine everything that is good and traditional about this country. I should have said they will never take Christmas out of our hearts and minds as well as out of our homes. As long as we, the people, keep the faith alive and well in our families, their efforts will never prevail. In the media yes...but the people of this great country get it, and that's what's important.

MacConnell said, "It's the largest one they have had in Portland" to stand through the holidays. Which "holidays?" Flag Day? Bastille Day?

In the media yes...but the people of this great country get it, and that's what's important. In case you haven't noticed, they're not alone; their minions are legion. Even so, they are only carrying out the wishes of d'evil one himself. And those of us that have allowed this to happen are almost as culpable. Tolerance has not been a friend to us. And when will it end? How long before your neighbor will be able to report you to the thought police because he saw you sneaking a glance at a Bible once.
Our goebbelists are not amateurs; they know what they're doing, where they're going and maybe most importantly, how to get there. If push comes to shove, will your survival instinct or a go-along-to-get-along attitude dictate your actions regarding your faith? Are you willing to fight, even die, for your faith? It may come to that. The barbarians are at the gates.

People hate God so much that they can't mention the word "Christmas" because of the "Christ" part. I feel like legally changing my name to "Christmas". Actually, "Christmas Christmas" so even if they use just my first or last name they'll still have to say "Christmas".
I hope many local people complain to the stupid/evil newspaper. I wonder if the woman who gave the CHRISTMAS tree also refused to say the dreaded C word?
To: weegee
Great tagline.
Unfortunately.
To: NewHampshireDuo
Eeeesh...Maybe they should just change the name to "Not Christmas". They could sell "Not Christmas" trees, and have After "Not Christmas" sales, and wish everybody a Merry "Not Christmas".
