What the courts rejected as executive privilege, the DUMBOCRATS want to get through Senate hearings again.

They're serious, right? Gas has dropped to $2.40 a gallon in parts of the country. And here the Democrats want oil execs to testify about excessive profits. They're demented in their inability to comprehend how the free market works.

They can do nothing without GOP cooperation.

Gas went from a high of $3.79/gal to $2.17/gal (and still dropping) in these parts.

Correct, and thankfully. Otherwise, these clowns' circus would have moved into the committee halls of Congress.

If its gets down to $2.00, people will forget Katrina ever happened.

Lautenberg added: "We need to know what went on at those meetings, and find out whether this administration permitted the interests of big oil to stand ahead of the needs of the American families, small businesses." The results of all the meetings, with economists as well as with oil company and other energy people, was in the administration's energy policy proposals WHICH HAVE ALL POSTED ON THE INTERNET FOR YEARS NOW. If you can't see that any of them gave preferential treatment to one industry or group over another OR NOT, well then, YOU'RE BRAIN-DEAD HOPELESS. What in hell ELSE would you need to know, anyway?

You would have to be an economic moron to not recognize that when prices go up and most of your 'profit' comes from a percentage of the sale that retailers would be reporting the highest profits ever. More pennies per gallon sold will usually result in more profits. If I could double my sales, my profits would soar, but nothing would have changed. My percentage of profit would remain the same, I'd just be going past my costs a lot further.
But you have to be brain dead to ignore that these are also producers of oil. If your costs to produce a barrel of oil remain virtually the same and folks pay a heck of a lot more per barrel, you're going to make more money.
So what we have here is Democrats who are looking for another scandal to hang on the White House door after their Scooter ran out of gas and that lady in the ditch didn't pan out (they didn't even get the memo, either.)
That's just plain sad.
Oh, and since a lot of states collect sales taxes based upon the retail price of gasoline, how many of these outstanding leaders advocating that the states refund to their citizens the outrageous profits they made off of skyrocketing gasoline prices?
Anyone?
Anyone?
Gosh, how quickly they scatter.

He wants to know who participated in the Energy Task Force. Problem is that even the SCOTUS said that information falls under executive privilege.
DeamonRATS are trying to find another way at the information.
Lo$ers! Laughable dummy heads too. I feel sorry for their pea brains.

LOL!! This just simply cracked me up!

I do believe that Sen.Stevens told Sen.Cantwell to basically "shut up" when she tried to press this issue. Hopefully Sen.Stevens will tell these whiny rats the same thing.

The oil industry is subjected to more accusations and investigations than the mafia. They've got to jump hurdles for damned near every kook in America. I don't know how they do it. It hardly seems worth the rather paltry profits they receive in return.

Yeah, poor babies. So few billions to live off of, every few months. I don't know HOW they do it, much less WHY they would heap that burden upon themselves. Blackbird.
To: indianrightwinger
Uhhh... Do these executives HAVE to appear before these clowns?? If they do, do they HAVE to say ANYTHING at all?
