This arrived from a soldier in Iraq who apparently has a connection with UCF and posted it in one of our forums. I have sent one box off, but I feel like it's not enough for this family. Any help, or any referrals to helping organizations, would be greatly appreciated.

Can you give me a better idea of the sizes of the children and what kind of clothes can we send the girls? Sweaters sure - but what kind? Is a good idea to send dark or bland colors or can the sweaters be bright colors? I really havent a clue but I dont want to send the wrong stuff.
Also - shoe sizes?
Can we send the family money?

Small children can wear bright colors.Black is reserved for women. But less do in Iraq.

Ages of the kids and sizes of the women would help.

I am sorry. But this is the only information I have. I happened to be online when he posted it, but he had to go quickly, so there wasn't time for questions.
I would like to show his group of soldiers, and this family that we can respond to this kind of call for assistance. Very happy to see the FReepers raising their hands to help here.
I'm not a bit surprised. Thanks all.

Just emailed this thread to at least 10 of my friends. I know, in turn, they'll send it to their friends. This poor family will certainly get help, thanks to Freepers like you. I wish we could help more families like this. I will certainly be mailing out all I possibly could to them.

Odd?????
I just did a search of the US Army AKO White pages for SPC Timothy Morningstar. Searching all Active, Guard, Reserve, Civilian, Army Contractor, and Army Retired registered AKO users (and everyone has an AKO acount).
Guess what. It came back as no one found. Now isn't that strange.

What do you think someone would want packages to be sent to Iraq for?

I just emailed someone who works for the army at Ft. Belvoir asking about the name and address of this person unless you, SandRat, feel certain that there is no Timothy Morningstar. Of course, I won't get a reply until tomorrow.

guys I'm in Iraq and on Canp Taji the APO is 09378, but I don't think there is a SPC. Tim Morningside. I walked over to the 4-1FA, ask around no one knows him. Hey if you send the clothes the 4ID might get them, but if no one recognizes the name its treated just like any other mail, so maybe just best to send it to "any soldier" same address and put a note in the box to hand out to the Iraqi kids, believe me its needed, and its raining, wet, muddy, and in the high 40's after dark. Seriously any hand me downs, any colors, any size they won't be wasted.
