Nothing short than withdrawing completely from this godless, corrupt, obsolete organization is what Bolton should be demanding.

I say kick all non-democratic countries out. Syria, Saudi Arabia and about 70-80 more should get the boot. I have no problem with human rights based democracies taking part in lively debate and the occasional disagreemnt. However, when Irans ambassador opens his mouth I want to puke. He's a bully as are his counter parts deserving of no respect.

It isn't Bolton's place to make such a demand.
He serves at the pleasure of the President.
I think it is quite extraordinary that the administration is making such claims now.

Well, there's no time like the present. Let's throw these worthless imbeciles out of our country and be done with them.

I think it is quite extraordinary that the administration is making such claims now. Well, it's not enough....time for the U.S. to withdraw completely from the U.N. Give the U.N. 60 days to leave NY and send in the Marines if they don't comply.

Hooray for Bolton and for President Bush to have appointed him, despite the whines and screams in Congress.

Outstanding display of sense.

The United Nations, which he said seemed caught in a time warp, "has got to be a place to solve problems that need solving, rather than a place where problems go, never to emerge."He's wrong on that last part. Problems don't end up in the UN black hole--they're spawned, nurtured and released there.

I say kick all non-democratic countries out. I say kick everyone out. I just don't see a need for a United Nations. How did countries correspond and survive before the existence of the UN?

He serves at the pleasure of the President. And I am sure the President is quite pleased!!!!
As am I.

"One alternative to the United Nations," he said, "is for regional organizations to play a larger role, praising the Organization of American States and the African Union." Considering the reception President Bush got in Argentina then I'd say that he can forget the OAS as a supportive foreign body. And is Bolton seriously suggesting that the AU would be more receptive to U.S. leadership than the UN?

Through debating processes like World Wars one and two.

And if a somewhat conservative president doesn't win this next election, then all the good that gets done at the UN won't get followed up on. Worse, a liberal will reverse it and sell our sovereignty in some future oil for food scam.
