By "rehabilitate" I mean that they should be "turned" in an intell sense, and become assets of our side to use against their former masters.Oh I'm with you now.....
Thought for a second there...you were advocating "sensitivity training"....(g)
Carry on.....

Yes, it is far more humane to allow suicide bombers to blow up wedding parties, than to humiliate or unduly stress them in interrogations.

"This is the only comment that I agree with. All intel should be extracted within hours and days. As to how long it takes for the execution, it should NOT be quick and merciful. It should take months, and be quite merciless. The family of the convicted should attend. Especially the children. Young minds are so impressionable, and behavior is instilled at an early age. It takes a village and all that."
You advocate a failed strategy. All intel cannot be extracted within hour and days. Reality does not work that way. Our intelligence gathering operation at Gitmo has produced extremely valuable intelligence over months, sometimes years.
As for showing children their mother being tortured to death, I suggest that we would simply create a generation of lifelong enemies who would fight us to the death. Ask the Shia in Iraq why they are so willing to accept us. These are the exact tactics that Sadam used. There is no reason to create unnecessary enemies.
I am speaking purely pragmatically here. Our enemies should fear us. But we should do all we can to convert who we can to our friends, or at least to neutral.

OK. somebody explain this story to me as it is unclear.
Is this an Al-Qaeda produced video (in which case it's an attempt to hype a new threat) or something from the Jordanian police (which would raise the question: WHY IS SHE STILL WEARING THE BOMB-BELT?)

Maybe it's a show for Jordanian officials to hook her back up, but the story doesn't say she's been arrested, is in custody, or anything at all informative.
