I was extremely impressed with Michael Steele when he spoke at the RNC.

Well, we got one black democrat to admit that "party trumps race"...

Now, if we could just get the dems to admit that "party trumps patriotism"....

I don't care about a person's race, nor do I think do most Conservatives. The question is, "Is he a Conservative or a RINO?"

If the Republicans are smart, they will do everything they can to field courageous, conservative black candidates for office all over the country. It seems there is nothing like it for exposing the scumbag Democrats for what they truly are.

Would you favor a Condoleza Rice Presidential Nomination?

A Steele versus Obama comparison has to be an absolute democrat nightmare. I can almost hear the beast screeching.

Radio talk shows in Baltimore were full of callers enraged by what was done to Lt. Gov. Steele. They were black and mad as hell. They will find out about the Democrat white females accessing his credit record by lying and they will be more angry. Are you listening Chuckie Schumer? You gave the senate seat to Mike Steele because you tried to degrade and cheapen him with your hit squad of skanks. Minority voters hate your Democrat racism and filth

Michelle Malkin has done yeoman's work on this subject. Not only the bigotry and racist insults that Democrats are getting away with but criminal felonies as well.

The link below is an archive of Michelle's reporting with links to other articles on the subject.Of particular interest to me is Chuck Schumer and the DSCC and the deliberate role it played in illegally obtaining Lt.Gov.Steele's credit report.

Michael Steele

Ruben Navarrette is often annoying but sometimes gets it. He is a bit weak on the history of race relations in this country--the Democratic Party was the chief perpetrator and upholder of discrimination based on race (and still is, having changed the formula).

Both black senators of the 19th century were Republicans. The first black senator elected in the 20th century was a Republican. I believe the first black senator who was a Democrat was Carol Moseley Braun, who couldn't get re-elected in one of the most Democratic states. Now they have Osama Barama, or whatever Teddy thinks his name is, who may be black and a senator, but who isn't descended from anyone who suffered slavery or segregation in the United States.

Of course, Michael Steele is not the first or only black to be treated shabbily for identifying with the Republican Party...there's also Condi Rice and Kenneth Blackwell, among others. I believe Hillary insulted Sen. Ed Brooke at her commencement ceremony.

I live in the DC area of VA, but he appears to be a true conservative or at least "close enough." The libs and dims hate him. Go figure, eh. It's tough to tell however since he's only the Lt. Gov. But as someone pointed out, he's given solid speeches and I'd vote for him all things being equal. He appears to come more from the Larry Elder school of thought.

Watch the racism by the tolerant left however in one of the most liberal states in the nation.

Party trumps race -- not to mention, common sense.

That sums it up.

YEP!

They're always more than welcome by conservatives if the ideology is right. We certainly don't care what color one's skin is.

Hmmmm....intresting question. I don't know enough about her politics and policy positions to answer that question.

Yes, she is one of the greatest and I am a big time admirer of her in her roles as both the NSA and SoS.

For Maryland, what other options does the GOP have anyway?

I am totally convinced that he is better than a RINO, although most likely won't be as solid as Santorum or Brownback.
