I didn't get to listen to the speech because I was too busy working to pay the taxes for all the runaway RINO spending.

I think the goal is to improve his popularity, and the popularity of the GOP.
If the GOP loses the House and/or Senate in 2006, Bush is dead in the water and won't be able to get much done in his 2nd term. He knows it. The goal is to improve the perception of his admin and the GOP nationally.

How soon until Lincoln Chaffee apologizes to the Democrats for Bush's "intemperate and divisive" speech, anyway?

He is taking on, finally, the very serious, erroneous charges that he lied us into the war. Democrats are dreaming of impeachment over the story they've created, the one that has gone UNanswered for such a long time now. I hope he keeps up this approach and just wish he had started earlier. He isn't trying to piss off anyone or get #'s up I believe...he sees the truth has been lost by the Dems and the media and he hopes to restore it.

Bush does not care about poll numbers. He is protecting all of us, and looking out for the Troops specifically. He is the kind of person that says what he means, and means what he says. The Dems actions are hurting the troops period! Plain and simple.

Its not like most people care what he has to say anymore. They want results. I want head banging conservative results.

The goal is to finally rebut the "Bush lied" attack. Originally Bush didn't think the charge would stick based on the mountain of evidence and the number of pronouncements from the Clinton days. While conducting a war, you don't want to split the population. However, polls are showing that the charge has stuck as the Dems had no compunction at splitting the population in time of war. Therefore Bush had no choice but to finally counterattack. Of course, the damage is already done, but late is better than never.

What is the ultimate goal of taking on the dems in the Bush lied fight Shining light on the truth. (How don't you know this? Are you a troll?)
To: sachem longrifle
To defend the truth, for starters.

If he was counterattacking he should have armed himself with something more lethal than a wet noodle.
Bush is so far detached these days that he probably thinks he reamed em a new one. Very sad to see his fall when He could have push a conservative revolution..
