Is anybody else besides me getting getting awfully tired of the French Republicans in Washington throwing up their perfectly manicured hands in defeat whenever they encounter an idea which makes any sense to the average American?

A pox on these effete brie-eatering poodles!

Well said! Apparently he doesn't think going to the House leadership counts for anything. I am not going to waste my time calling Bass who is not my rep...but I can talk to my own rep, Jeff Miller of FL and Dennis Hastert the leader.

Good post!

Why don't you wake up and instead of worrying about Pelosi think about the future of our nation. That's what set Reagan against attitudes such as yours.

What good is that going to do, when it is bass spearheading the movement against ANWR.

Oh that's right I'm just being childish for pointing out a fact, according to you.

With a GOP like this who needs the Dems?

I am beginning to believe you.

Anwr is out, I spoke to someone in Bass's office and they got assurances from the house and senate leadership that it is going to be out of the final reconncilliation bill.

The 25 rino's weren't going to vote for it without it being assured of not being in the reconnciliation bill.

She said that anwr wasn't supported by the majority in alaska. What lies.

Would a Bush veto even do anything. If he vetoed it after the reconcilliation bill without Anwr in it wouldn't his veto just send it back to the senate without it in it. Could they even change it after his veto? Aren't they only allowed to just vote on the original bill.

Oh you mean the Reagan who signed tax and social security tax hikes, supported the Brady bill and who ran away from Lebanon.

Reagan was a great President, but when you guys start pitting conservative against conservative, I will remind you that Reagan wasn't omnipotent either.

I'm sorry, the GOP seems far more productive and motivated when they are fighting Clinton like Newt did.

The fact is that this White House has triangulated the right wing out of any real power domestically. However, with the Meirs mess, the right has shown that it will not just eat cake anymore.

Has anyone seen the list of the 25 Rhinos? I am sure Ohio is represented in this list (i.e., DeWine and Voinabitch).

So now we have a "Gang of 20? 24? Whatever?" in the House. It won't hold up either. Dewine and Grahm got the message from the constituencies (I know I hammered Dewine's office here) and broke ranks with Wanna-be-Prez McCain on the nuke option. These jellyfish RINOs are posturing for the media playtime but will soon figure out the error of their ways. I do believe that we have to quit sending these luke warm conservatives to DC but I think this will play out in favor of drilling. These people have gotten hammered by the voters about high gas prices and then turn around and vote to keep us more dependant upon foreign oil. Let the voters speak.

Yeah, while Clinton is in the Oval Office giving away military secrets to the Chicoms, appoitning whacko liberal judges, and defaming the Oval Office by taking advantage of interns.

Your selective history rejects reality. And your attitude is what emboldens those you are afraid of such as Pelosi.

LOL! You are the one frothing at the mouth to chuck the GOP and let Pelosi become Speaker.

We'll see. Looks like Domenici and Stevens in the conference committee are sticking to their guns.

Brillant intellectual retort. You must of missed the class in grade school about representative government where people may be voted in and out of office, even being replaced by ones of the same party.

Does anyone know if ANWR could be done by executive order? I remember that Clinton went to Utah and with a stroke of the pen put a section of that state under the protection of the federal government, a section that possibly had shale oil. Anyone have the facts?

Why can't the Gop take out all the budget cuts and even add home heating and then get some dem votes to go for ANWR.

This is ANWR's last year. As much as I want cuts in Congress I know that with next year being an election year and republicans losing seats in 06 we will never again have a chance at ANWR. I'll sacrifice the cuts right now to defeat these rino enviornmentalists. The trade defecit went up because of high gas prices.

Then to make up for the cuts you miss because of this gut the highway bill.
