Just as we have done here in the US, the French have let the Tablighi Jamaat in and their plans are starting to to be known. As someone I know who speaks fluent Arabic recently told me "there is no negotiation, it's either they kill us or we kill them".

He rejected calls by a police union for troops to be sent in but said that 1,500 reservists were being called up and repeated an appeal to parents to keep adolescent rioters off the streets.Of course, if you must allow your adolescent rioters on the streets, please ensure they wear reflective clothing and have flashlights.

*sings* On the 12th night of riots, angry youths gave to me...
Oh come on. I can't believe this has not come up before now.
Alright, bets on how long these riots are going to last? I am guessing another half week at least.

We'd better get used to seeing maps like this. Germany, Denmark, Italy, Holland, et al. should be drawn like this in the near future.

"Of the 1,200 people arrested, more than 30 - half of them juveniles - have already been jailed or given youth custody."
