It is true that the United Nations definition of genocide is broad, and does not necessarily require killing.
But it is also worth recalling that in Darfur where 180,000 people have been killed and two million displaced, the UN says there is not enough evidence to say the government is responsible for genocide.
Hmmm...is the beeb beginning to lose its patience with the UN?

Africa is such a nice place these days, war, starvation, mass expulsions..etc..Heck ethnic cleansing of "Bushmen." Isn't that what the BBC and the libs what to do in this country.

It is true that the United Nations definition of genocide is broad, and does not necessarily require killing. Maybe I need to brush up on my Latin, but I'm pretty sure that suffix "-cide" specifically connotes killing. Homicide, fratricide, regicide...

You are right, but, as you likely know, the left often changes the meanings of words to suit the political needs of the moment.

You're right...the dictionary gives two meanings, both ultimately from the same Latin word: one "a suffix meaning
killer; destroyer," the other "a suffix meaning
a killing."
You left out "Arkancide."

It's a dangerous part of the world. Besides the other hazards to life, and the harshness of the natural environment in the Kalahari desert, Bushmen also have to watch out for coke bottles falling out of the sky.

That movie was one of the funniest ever made. Low budget, big laughs.
