How long before Jim-may Carter shows up in Paris and draws up a brilliant peace plan that will leave everyone with huggies and kissies?
Seems to me there's "de facto" French representation within NATO. There was quite a scuffle a while back as to whether the French withdrew or not, as I understand it...the mutual defense pacts are still in place under the old NATO agreement.
Nevertheless...the same logic applies, we'd never let France become Franiston...it would be a threat to our National Security.
The night's activity: 400 cars and 27 buses burned in the Paris area. 3 warehouses burned down and many government and administrative buildings hit by fire bombs. Car burnings being reported in other regions of the country. Despite this the French preSS is stating that the violence is down and that there were no riots last night. Now that the French have seen how all of this is being reported in other parts of the world, there is a concerted effort by French media to downplay the violence and show as little of it as possible. i-Tele and Europe1 have already openly discussed reporting less on the riots (so as to not fan the flames), and LCI cable TV news (owned by TF1) is opening the day's newscast with reports of the Marseille transit strike, now in day 32.
I wonder what they'll report when all of these so-called "leaders" are lined up against a wall for mass executions after the muslims take over?

France created the problem, France can clean it up.
Some in the US who follow the same agenda are going to be busy cleaning up some.
I wonder why the MSM is not salivating over body counts ? I cannot believe that thousands of cars have been burnt and many businesses destroyed and only a few people got hurt.
They are sorta kinda still members, but not really.
Makes one wonder whether their future surrender to the armies of Islam will be a real surrender or just a on-again-off-again capitulation.

Sounds like a description like "scum" just might not be too far off the mark.
Didn't even need a disaster of biblical proportions (i.e., Katrina) to expose the weaknesses in France's social fabric.
I'm afraid you're right. I used to think that at some point, they, and Europe, would wake up and say, "HEY! Wait a minute!" and implement their own version ethnic cleansing. (It seems that Euros can't see what's coming and then they overreact - like our politicians.)
Read this article. I got about half-way through, after the blind-eye approach to crime by the public and police, and the dilitante politicians, and blurted out "My God! These people are doomed!". Of all the articles I've read on the riots and their causes, this one really drove a stake in their heart. They have neither the will nor the courage to take back their country.
The owner of my company just returned from Paris on Monday and made no mention of any of the problems over there during his visit. I suspect he didn't even know if was going on.
If France fell into complete chaos with unending rioting over the next few months, personally I would get a good chuckle out of it.

You mention the nuclear arsenal in France, but another concern is that much of the electricity generated in France comes from nuclear power plants.
It's probably not co-incidental that there are a lot of Islamists there.
Whatever happened to microwave crowd control devices (among other new "less than lethal" weapons). I've been expecting to see them deployed in Iraq. Would they do any good in Paris? (Napoleon's "whiff of grapeshot" is probably not considered PC anymore.)
If the microwave devices are deployed; what setting do you use -- High, Medium, Defrost?
