This happened with Terri too. The media sent word from Jeb to Greer so Greer could pretend that the FDLE was coming and that he was going to have a showdown between FDLE and the Pinellas Sheriff's Office. What an off broadway production that was. The plan was that Terri wouldn't be rescued and Jeb would look like John Wayne but he isn't.
The TRAGIC part of the plan was Terri's murder by the state of Florida for an aduterous husband/narcissist/loser.
Jeb's political future is his problem - Jeb lovers do not realize because they were not here that one day he said he was going in to save her no matter what J. Greer said and the next day Jeb said "there is nothing I can do." Sure, Jeb. Then don't get on the airwaves and give people false hope by lying when somebody's life is at stake.
If Jeb lovers want another person who lies in the White House, they should stick with Jeb Bush. I was a major Jeb supporter. I didn't know about his allegiance to Pinellas cronies with certainty until the charade began.
I cannot trust Jeb Bush with the United States. No way. He looks like a man but he's a RINO wuss.

There was an earlier mention of Jeb Bush up thread. I thought he would make a fine president myself. Your observation about the televised comments regarding Terri is right. Face it, he's a typical politician just like the rest of them.
As for my state, I'm waiting for Ahhhhnold to crack and pardon Tookie Williams. He just hired one of Gray Davis' former staff members. I held my nose and voted for Arnold, and I'm disgusted with myself.
