Reid's indignation at not being consulted re the Alito nomination

Reid was consulted. He was ignored.

Fact is, Reid specifically told the White House "NO" on Alito. So his "indignation" results from being rolled over.

You're kidding? That's the PERFECT name.

I'll try to remember to call them that. The Joe Wilson democrats.

I'm so glad they are helpful, VirginiaMom.

Now if we could only get the Republicans to USE them!

Do you recall when/where that was reported. I thought I heard the day of the nomination he was pissed because he was not even consulted.

Funny how in the 90's the world was concerned about the growing relationship between OBL and Saddam and now the left is revising history.

The Left always revises history. That's Marxism 101. The peasants have short memories.

I thought I heard the day of the nomination he was pissed because he was not even consulted.

Yah, that's Reid's complaint:

"I am disappointed in this choice for several reasons. First, unlike previous nominations, this one was not the product of consultation with Senate Democrats. Last Friday, Senator Leahy and I wrote to President Bush urging him to work with us to find a consensus nominee. The President has rejected that approach.

but if you read that statement carefully, you see that "the product of consultation" and "consensus nominee" in Demspeak means someone they like.

On Sunday [before the nomination], Reid said the nomination of Alito would create problems for Democrats. Speaking on CNN's ''Late Edition," Reid said, "That is not one of the names that I've suggested to the president. In fact, I've done the opposite. I think it would create a lot of problems."

http://www.crosswalk.com/news/1360005.html

In other words, they discussed Alito.

from slate:

Though Reid whined that Bush didn't consult him after Miers withdrew, the Nevada senator has had his chance to make his views known. On Sunday, Reid was telling CNN that he had argued specifically against Alito in previous discussions with the White House.

Wow, the replies to my post 36, have been great, 42, 49, 50, 81. Thank you all, can't say I am too surprised.
Tucker Carlson's show "The situation is amusing, but that comment made me come unglued.

My first comment about Reid being a Clone of Daschle still stands, (IMHO) of course.

Actually what the President said was that, "British Intelligence reported, they were trying to buy yellowcake in Africa."
