so they secure the senate a vote is taken to see if the closed session continues it fails with the vote the senate goes back to open session the dems do it all over again soon... right?

Exactly right. This is little more than a procedural delay because the Pubs control the Senate. But the Dems are childishly threatening to do this every day.

Problem is that the GOP HAS ALLOWED THE DEMS to get away with all the whining. They are the ones that seem to be incontrol. They are underhanded and GOP SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT. They have been on the warpath since election and we continue to allow them to step all over us.

Exactly. Frist bemoaning the lack of respect, lack of civility, etc. Holy he!!, who does he think he's been dealing with all this time????? WAKE UP! Destroy these traitorous bassturds.

Why don't they just change Rule 21 to require a majority vote? They already have the option to to change any Senate rules since they left it open for the nuclear option.

The Dem's may have made it impossible for Libby to get a fair trial.

I agree. This was a huge mistake on their part. They are obviously ticked off that Fitz didn't get anyone but Libby. Fitzgerald should be pi$$ed off that the dims just potentially screwed up his investigation, and the public is getting real tired of their temper tantrums.

These dems are going to get called on the carpet in 2006 by the moonbats because they voted for the war. These dems know they are going to have trouble getting re-elected by their base unless they speak out against the war and saying they were lied to is the only way they can now change their position. That may be fine for their base, but they're not the only ones who vote. This will backfire.

The dims must be having a very bad last few days...

_Thursday: Harriet Miers withdraws her name from
consideration from SCOTUS

_Friday: Scooty poot indicted. (I'm getting the feeling that the rat's mole has been removed from the WH) Scooty poot is a life-long dem. He was Marc Rich's lawyer since 1985. He won't be leaking anything to anybody anytime soon.

_Monday: Bush nominates Alito to the SCOTUS. That news was unifying for republicans which can only be bad for dems. The day started out great and only got better for republicans as the realization set in that Scooty poot was an unknown small fish in the large political ocean.

_Tuesday: Desperation sets in for the dems. Even with the media circulating all their talking points they are looking like the spoiled children they are. They implode. Shut down the Senate with obscure motion so they can do a group Howard Dean impression. Fat Teddy brings scotch for everybody.

_Wednesday: Dems don't show up for work cause they're all too hung over, depressed and generally outdated and out of touch with real America...and nobody notices.

;o)

_

...reporter: "Their tactic aside, how will you do business in a timely manner?" ... Frist: "I would have told Reid 'let's talk about it"... Reid never approached me...
[THE QUESTION REMAINS: D0ES FRIST GET IT NOW? HOW EVIL THE DEMS ARE? HOW THEY WILL NEVER, EVER COMPROMISE?]...

Sure they can have another hearing after Joe Wilson is first indicted for his lies before the prior Senate Subcommittee.

Who won the last election and has majority of both houses? I forgot.

Obviously it wasn't "our" side.

From K-LO at the Corner.

A Republican staffer points out:

They could have made this same point without looking like children. On Tuesdays, there are about 100 reporters at the post-policy lunch stakeouts. Reid could have gone to the cameras and made this point. But now, Frist, Lott and others made good points about how the dems are childish, un-senatorial and are pulling a political stunt while we’re trying to pass a budget. Silly and childish. They weakened what could have been a strong point.

It’s like chewing someone out, but p***ing your pants while you’re doing it.

Stupid.

Don't think the dems won't be making audio recordings of what goes on in the private session.

It was Durbin who immediately seconded Reid's motion. The republican senator presiding over the senate didn't call for a vote. Maybe on this procedural Rule # 21, it isn't necessary.

It's not. A motion and a second, and closing the doors is AUTOMATIC. Rule XXI takes precedence even over a Senator who has the floor and OBJECTS to the Rule XXI Motion! No debate, no nothing. Motion, second, CLOSE THE DOORS.
