The guy sure had a lot to say.
The argument has always been that the public servants are paid less than people in public sector. To attract good employees, government has to make up the discrepancy in salary with better benefits and retirement plan. However, in most places, one has to work at least 10 years before he can be vested in the retirement system.

In my thirty years of public service, I suffered a broken femur (twelve weeks in traction), shoulder reconstruction, two broken vertebra, and several concussions. That's just the physical aspects. Good God man, what were you a crash test dummy?

They did, under PERS, but a court decision reduced that, however the unions are fighting like tooth and nail to retain it.
It's amazing how much burueacrats are paid in this state...

No, but sometimes it felt that way! I was in Federal law enforcement for 30 years, both on the street and in investigations.

But please remember that there are millions of public servants who work their jobs with the idea that the public deserves the best possible service for the hours worked. Not to be confrontational, but I doubt it.

Such tactics are especially unsettling in health care. Even worse, when a Connecticut local affiliated with SEIU went on strike against nursing homes, workers engaged in vandalism and sabotage aimed at patients, according to an investigation by the states attorney, including removing identification bracelets from Alzheimers patients, feeding chocolate to diabetics, and loosening bolts on lifts used to support patients. Unions need to be destroyed.

That's your opinion, and you are certainly welcome to it. However, I do have personal observation behind my assessment.

In fact, they are recomendung that managers all get pay raises of anywhere from $8,000 to $14,000. Most of them make anywhere from $75,000 to $90,000, so 14% raise will really skyrocket their salaries. What exactly do these "managers" manage?
