I'll bet Hugh is stripping a mental bolt right now over the Miers withdrawal.
He has been extremely single-minded about her confirmation.
Listen to him regarding Meirs? I don't think so.
I'll be listening on my drive home. Just yesterday he was insistant that Miers wouldn't withdraw. He was discussing it with David Frum, and I was impressed by the politeness and courtesy of both, since they completely disagreed with each other's position.
I like Hugh. I like his show.
But it seems as though he has carried himself in the Miers debate in a manner that he much criticized in others.
"I'll be listening on my drive home. Just yesterday he was insistant that Miers wouldn't withdraw. He was discussing it with David Frum, and I was impressed by the politeness and courtesy of both, since they completely disagreed with each other's position."
We need a little bit of that around here.
Hugh Hewitt is on the air.

This article by Hugh was a hoot. As you can see, in the same article that Hugh was calling for civility in the debate over Miers, he was simultaneously reading a bunch of people out of the conservative movement. If Hugh is going to do that, I suppose that is fine but one would think that he would take that position in an article other than one where he is calling for the other side to be civil in their debating tactics.
From all that I am told, Hugh is a real stand-up guy.
I have not been able to listen to talk radio all week, all I am getting is hurricane recovery news coverage down here in Miami.
Today, I was "jonesing" for talk radio and caught the end of Al Franken's show. He is giddy for indictments tomorrow.
I know Hugh is stuck on Meiers, what is he saying about Plamegate if anything.
I listen to Hugh almost everyday and enjoy his show. However, he has always come across as puting party loyalty almost always above his conservative ideology.
Once the President puts forth a new nominee, I'm certain that whoever it is, Hugh will get in line behind that nominee.

"However, he has always come across as puting party loyalty almost always above his conservative ideology."
I think puting party loyalty first is his ideology.
Senator John Kyl is on now!
The real SMART GUY John Eastman is on.
He's been pretty consistent in saying that the plame stuff is stupid to begin with and there's no use wasting time speculating over absurdities in the liberal press until there's something definitive to speak about and, in the meanwhile, has encouraged review & discussion of Miers as a real issue with great import.
yep
So what does anybody know about this McConnell guy he's talking about?
