There was one typographical error, though, IIRC. Siachen is about 16,000-21,000 feet in elevation at that location, AFAIK (something I remember dimly, if correctly, from other studies). I live and work at high altitudes. ...can be very dangerous for any lowlanders who don't research, train and prepare for the following:

Also, IIRC, the film, "Edema" was based on the area around Siachen. HAPE and/or HACE are terrible conditions to see in soldiers or anyone.
I want to thank you clearly for the background information. It appears that the Kashmir issue needs to be settled.
Oops sorry for the error. Ir should be 4000-5000 meters not feet.
